    • About My work
When one asks about my works, I must take them into my past; my
childhood times. Its roots are lies there. I am basically from carpenter family from
small village. My father got job in to the city and then we shifted there, but we
used to go to village until during vacation time in my childhood.
I spent my holidays watching my grandfather who used to works with logs
of wood. He used to cut logs and used to make furniture out of that. He had the
knowledge to identify the best wood.
That’s how the texture of wood are painted in my mind rigorously, which
becomes the part of my recent works. One may call it texture of log but I see
many lives growing in to that. In our Hindu culture, we used to believe that wood
remains companion throughout the life beginning from birth until death. We have
on song written by St. Kabir on that too, “ अ ब
      “…
In the modern era, wood has been replaced by other materials. Earlier,
everything from the roof of the house to daily use food etc. used to be made of
wood like since birth until death like the cradle for baby, pencil, the bed, chair,
etc. And in the end of the life the wooden stick for burning the dead bodies.
Gradually the times changed, today in every house in the cities and villages, food
is being cooked on gas instead of on wood. But during my times, my generation
used to utilize the things made out of wood, so the poem of the St. Kabir was so
      relevant.
Wood plays an important role in human life. Firstly, it is a renewable source
which reduces waste and controls pollution. Secondly, wood is a building material
that removes the barriers between nature and humanity. Finally, wood is a
contributor to human health, emotional well-being, stress regulator, and
stabilizing vital signs. The benefits of wood and forests to the environment,
human health and well-being may vary, but the essence is the same – wood
products should be produced and used as building and industrial alternatives in
      various walks of life.
Actually, Wood is one of Earth's most versatile and perhaps most familiar
natural raw materials and its vital role in our daily lives are often overlooked.
Every day millions of people around the world earn their living by working with
the wood. Our quality of life has increased significantly due to this amazing
      resource.
The accessibility, functionality and attractiveness of wood have been valued
since ancient times, as evidenced by the many important architectural structures
made of wood that we have inherited from our ancestors, including centuries-old
haystacks and millennium-old Wooden wheels included. They also made furniture
from wood, surrounding them with this material which gave a feeling of warmth.
This heritage has had a significant impact on the development of Slovenian
craftsmanship and its rich cultural heritage.
In fact with today’s technology and expertise, the range of wooden final
and semi-finished products is very wide. Wood has a wide range of applications
for decorative purposes and interior furniture, and it is increasingly being used as
a building block for wooden furniture and construction.
For me, the wood is a symbol of life, which has an association with nature
in general and human life in particular. I used the pattern and texture created
while cutting the wooden log. Within my exploration of nature, human existence
and the interconnectedness between the two, wood become an integral part of
my works. For me, the wood is a symbol of life, which has an association with
nature in general and human life in particular.
The wooden texture plays a metaphoric role in my work. Like the
relationship between human beings or humanity, spirituality of the life. My works
deeply illuminates the interiority of human life and the existential crises of
modern times – from temporal conflicts to spiritual dilemmas. Not just in the
visual sense, but in the way the imagination expands through patterns, lines,
colors and textured surfaces, freeing up forms to cover a variety of features.
Within an exploration of human existence and the interconnectedness between
the two, wood becomes an integral part in my works.
